A flooring quote might look fine on paper, but change once the work begins. A good estimate shows you what to expect before anything gets pulled up, not after.
At Easton Flooring, we’re honest with you from the start. Today, we’ll talk about what goes into an Easton Flooring estimate so you aren’t surprised on installation day.
A Complete Estimate Means Fewer Surprises
When we give an estimate, we go over all the details. We strive not to miss anything and have enough experience to know what to look for from the start. The end result is a complete estimate with very few surprises.
Easton Flooring is a family-owned flooring company based in Willow Grove, PA. We’ve been serving Eastern Montgomery and Bucks County since 2004 and our time in flooring shapes the way we provide every estimate.
What Happens During the Estimate
Through our experience, we have come to know what we’re looking at. Sometimes, we go down to the basement to look at the subfloor underneath. The subfloor is the layer beneath your finished flooring. We look for signs of previous leaks and soft spots because both can affect how flooring will perform in the long run.
We aren’t afraid to ask questions either. When we visit, we ask:
- Do you have any concerns?
- Have you noticed any spots?

What If Something Unexpected Turns Up?
Even when you get a careful estimate, no one can see through your existing floors. In some cases, we might pull up old flooring and find the subfloor is rotted underneath, even with no visible signs of damage on the surface. There isn’t a way to predict this ahead of time.
If a problem like this does come up, we address it, take care of it and provide a price for any unexpected repairs. This instance isn’t common because our experience lets us catch most issues before we start working.
Why Experience Matters at the Estimate Stage
In some larger stores, a salesperson might only be on the job for six months and only stick around for another six to nine months. Turnover is often high. Our team has been the same since day one and we plan to keep it that way.
Consistency means the person looking at your floor has seen similar situations in the past. When comparing estimates, consider asking whether the estimator looks beneath the surface, asks about your concerns and lets you know if anything unexpected comes up.
